Argos Town Council Sponsors Christmas Light Contest

December 15, 2011

12/16/11 The Argos Town Council will, again, be sponsoring an outdoor Christmas light decorating contest.  This contest has been a tradition for several years. Residents are able to win $50 for third place, $100 for second place or $200 for first place.  A representative from the Pilot News will cruse Argos and determine the winners.  The winners will be announced at the December 22nd Council meeting.

Due to the passing of Lawrence Beam this fall there was a vacancy on the Board of Zoning Appeals.  The Council appointed Tom Nolin to fill the vacancy.  Don Mahoney was reappointed as the Argos representative to the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation.  Teressa Welborn also was reappointed to represent Argos to the Marshall County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Council President, Dave Walker, told the Council the progress for the Zoning Map.  Representatives from the Plan Commission and BZA held a workshop to correct and update any errors on the zoning map.  Dave said, “We know the map we have is not current and we just want to get it current.”   A new map will soon be available for the public inspection.
