October 12, 2011

10/13/11 Plymouth Building Inspector Keith Hammonds presented the 2011 Third Quarter Report to members of the Board of Public Works and Safety Monday evening.

The report lists a total of 57 permits issued during the third quarter with permit fees being assessed at $3,510. Fifteen of the permits were commercial while 42 were residential.  Electrical permits were at the top of the list with 11 while 9 sign permits were issued and 8 decks.  Hammonds issued a total of 7 accessory permits, 6 for fences, 4 permits each for renovations and single family dwellings, 2 each for demolitions and porches and 1 new construction.

The estimated construction value of the third quarter permits in 2011 was $3,977,067.  Just one year ago 57 permits were issued in the 3rd quarter of 2010 with an estimated construction cost of $1,604,101.  Hammonds explained the sharp increase in the construction estimate as the Community Resource Center that is currently under construction.
