Groundbreaking for Senior Housing Facility

December 8, 2010

12/09/10 A ground breaking ceremony was held Wednesday morning for Parkview Place, an 18 unit senior housing facility located north of Novelty Street and west of Center Street behind Kentucky Fried Chicken in Plymouth.

The facility will offer “a la carte” senior services at affordable rates.  The facility will offer spacious, fully handicapped one-bedroom suites with several amenities, including an all purpose room, a four season’s room, a workout area, and laundry services.  Occupancy should be available in spring 2011.

Corey Collins said, “We are excited about this project and feel that not only will it be a wonderful addition to the City of Plymouth, but a prototype model that we feel will be well accepted in many communities across northern Indiana.”

Collins continued, “Parkview Place will complete the third phase of our development on-site.  What was a vacant, unappealing piece of land will now be comprised of 12 attractive single family homes, along with the Parkview Place facility.  Additionally, what was generating negligible property taxes will now generate much more significant revenues.”

Brent Martin of BA Martin Architects is the architect for the project and Teachers Credit Union is the leading financial institution for the project.
