04/12/11 At 19 year old Culver man found out what happens when you run away from the City’s K-9, Rex during an incident Sunday night.
19 year old Cody Deery of Culver was the suspect in the shoplifting incident that occurred at Wal-Mart Sunday evening. Plymouth Police were dispatched to the wooded area behind K-Mart because Deery had fled from Wal-Mart into that area.
City Officer John Weir and others responded to the area. The city’s K-9 Rex was brought out to track the suspect. He was able to apprehend the suspect who needed to be treated at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth for a dog bite. Deery was then transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in for theft with a $1,000 cash bond.
