Plymouth Schools Increase Numbers on Official Count Day

September 22, 2013

09/23/13 The Plymouth Schools’ enrollment is up 39 students over last year, according to Superintendent Daniel Tyree. Tyree said the official enrollment is now at 3551.9. That number is tabulated counting kindergarten students as half-time. Tyree said, “If we count kindergarten as full-time, then we are up 56 students.”

Reimbursement from the state will be at a half-time rate plus an additional 50 percent since there is a stipend for schools that have full-time kindergarten programs.

Official count day is the 3rd Friday in September each year. Students, who are enrolled in a school system on that day and their official documentation is in place, are counted as students for that system. Reimbursement by the state is extended for those students.

Another count day will be in the early months of 2014.

Tyree indicated that there are still verifying the enrollment of two students that could possibly change the enrollment number.
