Commissioners to Conduct Year-End Meeting on Wednesday

County Building_2The Marshall County Commissioners will meet for a year-end meeting on Wednesday, December 31st at 8:30 a.m. in their second floor meeting room of the County Building.

Agenda for the meeting includes the Probation Department’s request to approve a new contract with Muskegon River Youth Center.  As their last meeting the commissioners had questions on fees for transportation services that were not in the last agreement.  The new contract also appears the charge for substance and sexual abuse counseling, something that was included in the prior contacts. The new proposal also holds Marshall County liable is a detained juvenile damages the facility up to $2,500.

The highway department will present road cuts while Plymouth City Attorney Sean Surrisi will request usage of the county’s GIS data for phase II of the Greenway Trail Project.  An interlocal agreement will be required.

Also on the year-end agenda will be approval of year-end claims, department head appointments, and a discussion on the vacancy on the Tippecanoe Township Advisory Board. Only 2 ran for the three seats and election law says the commissioners may appoint from the incumbents.  If there is no interest they will pass the vacancy on to a caucus.

The meeting is open to the public and comments and questions are welcomed.
