CMA Lacrosse Team Best in Nation

February 19, 2015

CMA_Dawson-McKenzieThe Culver Military boys prep lacrosse team has been named the best team in the nation by USA Today.

In the newspaper’s inaugural Super 25 preseason poll, USA Today said:

“Despite losing a star player from 2014 in current Johns Hopkins freshman Joel Tinney, Culver is again stacked. Culver is a team that attracts top players from across the continent, including Canadians who will again help the Eagles put together a high-powered offense as they take on the nation’s most grueling and ambitious schedule.”

The paper added that Princeton recruit Dawson McKenzie ’15 (Fergus, Ont.) and Denver recruit Ethan Walker ’16 (Peterborough, Ont.) “put up jaw-dropping numbers last season and will lead the way in 2015.”

The Eagles finished the 2014 season 23-0 and ranked No. 2 in the nation by Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse. The team starts the 2015 season with a scrimmage against Indianapolis Cathedral on March 8, followed by games against Carmel on March 14 and Louisville Trinity on March 15.

The team then takes off for its annual spring break trip to Pennsylvania and Maryland. Games include Episcopal Academy in Newton Square, Pa.; Penn Charter in Philadelphia; Gonzaga at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore; St. Mary’s in Annapolis, Md.; and McDonough in Owing Mills, Md.
