Marijuana Complaint Leads to Arrest of 2

  03/14/14  On Saturday, March 8th at 12:21 A.M. the Plymouth Police Department received numerous calls about someone smoking marijuana at 308 East Jefferson Street in Apartment 1.  Officer Paul Stamper responded to the address to investigate the complaint.  During the investigation 53 year old Curtis M. Batey of Plymouth was found to be in violation of a protective order along with a violation of home detention. 

  Also located at the residence was 25 year old Kristopher M. Jump of Lynwood, Illinois whom was suspected of being in possession of narcotics.   As officers attempted to take Mr. Jump into custody he resisted law enforcement. Jump was charged with Possession of a Scheduled I,II, III Controlled Substance Without a Doctors Order, Dealing in Marijuana, Possession of more than 30 grams of Marijuana with a Prior and Resisting Law Enforcement.

Both Subjects were transported to the Marshall County Jail where Curtis Batey was held on a $1,505 bond and Kristopher Jump was held on a $10,005 bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
