Monday afternoon at approximately 4:30 Plymouth Police investigated a two vehicle crash at Oak Drive and US 30 involving a semi and Marshall County Sheriff’s Officer’s squad car.

45 year old Officer Jeff Sharp was traveling west bound on US 30 approaching Oak Drive in a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria squad car responding to a call with lights and siren.  As he was turning south on Oak Drive Officer Sharp west bound traffic had a green light to make a left hand turn.

Officer Sharp told the Plymouth Officer Derek Workman that he through the driver of the semi saw him and was stopping so he proceeded in front of the semi, that’s when the semi and squad car collided.

The driver of the semi, 60 year old Richard Musgrove of Wisconsin told the investigating officer that he was east bound at the light US 30 and Oak Drive.  When the light turned green he followed a couple of vehicles through the intersection and did not see the police vehicle with its lights and siren on until it was too late.

The squad car sustained damage to the right read quarter panel and door.  The semi was not damaged and neither driver was injured.
