PHS Riley Dance Marathon January 12th

January 1, 2013

01/02/13 On January 12th Plymouth High School will be hosting its 2nd Annual Riley Dance Marathon.  The dance marathons were first started in 1991 by an IU alumni after the loss of her friend Ryan White to AIDS contracted through a blood transfusion.  Every year since then, thousands of high school and college students across the state have participated in this event to raise money for Riley’s Children Hospital in Indianapolis.

Plymouth High School dancers will spend the 9 hour marathon dancing, eating, playing games, and listening to Riley patients’ heartwarming stories, all without sitting down.

Last year PHS dancers raised over $10,000 for Riley and this year their goal is even bigger, at $20,000 this year.  To raise this amount of money members of the group, the students, and school staff need the support of the community.   When asked to donate to the cause, please consider helping the cause.

WTCA’s What’s Your Opinion Show will host a couple of students from the PHS Dance Marathon Committee on Wednesday at 9:45.
