Delts & FOP Project Distribute 100 Easter Baskets

March 31, 2013

04/01/13 About a year ago, Dawn Smith, president of the Delts and Hurshel Hunter, president of Plymouth FOP 195 started discussing an Easter project last year.  Their talks continued throughout the year and it was determined the joint project would be Easter Baskets.

Both the Delts and Plymouth FOP supplied the baskets and contents for this year’s project.  Members of the Delts got together on Monday evening and put all the baskets together and on Tuesday they distributed them.

Together the project was able to distribute 100 baskets this year to the Neighborhood Center and the Bread of Life Food Pantry.  Those organizations were then able to distribute the Easter Baskets to the children of their clients.

Hunter said, “We have already started to discuss next year’s program with hopes to up the number of baskets being distributed to 200.   We hope to work with the community to reach our goal.”  The FOP president continued by saying, “Networking is key to a successful program.”
