Local Dentist to Offer FREE Smiles on October 9th

October 3, 2010

Dr. Chad Shaw is out to change lives by offering free smiles to anyone who needs dental work, as he hosts the latest event for Dentistry From the Heart (DFTH) on October 9, 2010.

Dr. Shaw and his team of volunteers are hoping to help those in our community who have no dental insurance or any other means of paying for dental treatment – treating patients in need of fillings, extractions and cleanings. This is the first year Dr. Shaw has hosted this event and hopes it will be a great success.

Dentistry From the Heart is a national non-profit organization with a simple mission – making people smile. Founded in 2001 by Dr. Vincent Monticciolo in New Port Richey, Florida, DFTH was created to aid those in need, including the growing population of under-insured Americans. Over 100 million Americans lack dental insurance and over 29% of adults have untreated cavities. Without events like DFTH, dental care simply isn’t an option for many of the uninsured. To date, DFTH has helped more than 25,000 patients and provided over $5.5 million in dental care.

“Now more than ever, I know there are people out there that need our services, but have no means to afford them – whether they’re out of a job, or just don’t have dental insurance. Dentistry From the Heart is my way of giving back to the community, and helping people who are in need of dental work,” said Dr. Shaw.

The event will take place on October 9, 2010 from 8AM – 1PM at
Family Dental Care in Plymouth located at 1409 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, IN. For more information, visit the organization’s national website at www.dentistryfromtheheart.org.
