02/08/12 Tuesday afternoon Marshall County Prosecuting Attorney, David R. Holmes, announced the appointment of Lynn Berndt, of Bremen, as Deputy Prosecuting Attorney effective February 6th. Ms. Berndt is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and the University of Michigan Law School, has served for the last seven years as a deputy in the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s office.
Holmes advised that Berndt would be handling traffic and misdemeanor cases in Superior Court II. He stated that Marshall County was fortunate to secure the services of an individual with the qualifications and experience that Lynn brings to the job.
Marshall County has three courts, and with the Prosecutor’s Office responsible for criminal, juvenile and child support cases, covering all three courts was often difficult with three attorneys. Holmes said he appreciates the support of the County Commissioners and the Council in making this position possible.
