Drive for Your Pool with Oliver Ford Lincoln & Plymouth Aquatics Club

June 25, 2013

06/26/13 Oliver Ford-Lincoln and The Plymouth Aquatics Club are joining forces with Lincoln for a “Driven to Give” event they’re calling ~ get this! ~ Drive One For Your Pool!

It’s this Saturday, June 29th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jefferson Elementary School parking lot in Centennial Park.  With each test-drive taken, Lincoln and Oliver Ford will donate $20 to the Build-A-Pool Fund.    Lincoln has stepped up to the plate and if you take a second test drive in a Lincoln MKS they will donate an additional $10 making your donation $30 to the Build-A-Pool Fund. With 300 test-drives the fundraiser could raise $8,000.

Lincoln, Oliver Ford and the Build-A-Pool committee are hoping that 300 licensed adults over the age of 18 from the community will come take a test drive!  And all that money will go to the Sharks Build-A-Pool Fund!  It’s one test drive per address but if you own a business you could use the business address and your spouse could use the home address.

A committee has been working for more than a year on getting a new indoor pool to replace the one taken out when the Plymouth School Corporation deemed it necessary due to the deterioration of the one in the high school and the need to create a space for the School of Inquiry.   The aquatics facility will be a community facility provided by grants and a public private partnership including the City of Plymouth, Plymouth School Corporation and SJRMC.

At this point the committee is seeking the additional funds meeting necessary to complete the first phase of a feasibility study that will help determine the best option for the community to be able to build and sustain an aquatic center.  The study will also help determine a location for the new pool.

Take the plunge and help make a big splash in the Sharks Build-A-Pool Fund.  It’s this Saturday, June 29th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jefferson Elementary School parking lot in Centennial Park.

Originally planned to coincide with the 2nd Annual Splash Bash, the Plymouth Aquatics Club has moved the date of the Splash Bash to Sunday, July 21st.  Activities will take place at the Plymouth Community Pool in Centennial Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  There will be a pool party, concessions, a dunk tank, snow-cones, cotton candy, pop corn and lots of fun.  We’ll have more details as the Splash Bash gets closer.
