05/02/11 Lifetime Plymouth resident, Duane Culp, recently announced his candidacy for the Plymouth City Council, District 1 seat.
Culp, a Republican and a Detective Lieutenant with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, filed to run for the seat vacated by Chuck Ripley.
Duane Culp, “Culp the Cutter,” will work across party lines to make Plymouth stronger and more vibrant. With less taxpayers on the rolls, budget cuts need to be made. Culp intends to responsibly manage the city’s finances to ensure a balanced budget while making the city an even better place to live and raise a family.
Duane Culp was born and raised in Plymouth. He married Jacquelynn Johnson Culp in 1994, and together they have two daughters, Katelynn and Brittany; both of whom attend Plymouth Community Schools. Culp graduated from Plymouth High School in 1982; is a 1988 Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Graduate and has served the residents Marshall County well in his 24 years as a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department , first as a Deputy, then Detective Sergeant and now Detective Lieutenant, where he is third in command. For 18 years, Culp was a volunteer firefighter and has earned a Master in Arson Investigation.
