PHS FFA Activities

October 24, 2011

10/25/11 The Plymouth High School FFA Chapter has been very busy this school year already.

On Monday, September 26th, the Plymouth FFA Chapter took a trip to Bremen High School to “kickoff” the new school year. All schools that are included in District II brought students down to participate in different activities and introduce the new 2011-2012 District II officer team. The activities were led by the 2011-2012 Indiana State FFA Officer Team. The activities were used to help all the students across the district get to know each other better.

PHS FFA started a new project last year called, “AG Education Outreach.”  They are continuing with their project this year with plans to expand.

On September 28th, the Plymouth FFA Chapter traveled to the Boys and Girls Club and brought along with them, a rabbit, python, big cat animal skins, an alligator, a puppy, two ducks, a chicken, and a pygmy goat. The kids at the Boys and Girls Club interacted with all the animals and learned how to care for each of them.  Club members enjoyed seeing animals they usually would not, and PHS FFA members enjoyed sharing their knowledge about each animal.

As part of a special project for Menominee Elementary, Plymouth FFA members helped out at the school’s annual Fun Fair night by providing over 150 bales of straw and creating a straw maze for the children.

It was an amazing maze that included turns, tunnels, & ups and downs. This was  first year PHS FFA members helped with the project.  It is with great intent the chapter will continue this exciting event in the future.
