Shop With a Cop Furdraising Underway

November 8, 2012

11/09/12 Plymouth FOP 195 is in the midst of their annual fundraising for the Shop With A Cop and Emergency Services program.

The Auto Park Service Center, previously Wrench General is conducting a Donation   Oil Change this Saturday, November 10th from 8 a.m. till 3 p.m.  These oil changes will be performed at 201 Airport Road and at the Auto Park location at 1845 West Jefferson Street.  Advanced Auto has graciously donated all the oil filters for this event so 100% of your donations will go to the Shop With A Cop program.

Other fundraisers currently underway are donation jars for folks to drop their loose change or dollar bills in and many locations are also selling window ornaments for a donation of at least $1.00.

The WTCA Radio Auction for Shop With A Cop is scheduled for Friday, December 7th beginning at 9 a.m.  FOP members and volunteers are currently out gathering items for the auction.  Mark Gunderson from Mobil 1 Express Lube on West Jefferson donated a front-end clip from one of Ryan Newman’s NASCAR cars.  It’s from a car that was actually run on the track, changed into a show car and then dismantled.  Hurshel Hunter, President of Plymouth FOP 195 is hopeful that there are some Newman fans that will be willing to bid some big money for this unusual item.  If NASCAR is your thing there are two di-cast cars autographed by Tony Stewart along with a warm Hoosier Jacket.

At this point there are over 250 items for the radio auction but we need about 400 items to raise the goal of $15,000 needed to help take 350 children shopping in mid-December.   If you or your business would like to donate items for the radio auction just give us a call at WTCA and we will be glad to assist you.
