06/28/13 Dozens of boys and girls participated in the 2nd annual Ford Soccer Skills Challenge sponsored by Oliver Ford last Sunday at the Kindt Soccer-plex. The kids showed off their skills at dribbling, passing and scoring.
Wednesday morning at Oliver Ford Lincoln on East Jefferson Street, John Oliver and Jenny Houin handed out awards to the top winners in the age categories and the top teams.
They also presented a $500 check to the Plymouth United Soccer Club.
Individual female winners were Cortni Cook for age 2001 or prior, MJ MaGee (not pictures) for age 2002-2003 and Aleah Yettaw for 2004 or after.
Male winners were Colin Harding age group 2001 or prior and Sean Retting age group 2002-2003. Each winner received a certificate and $30 gift card.
Team winners were females U11 and 12 with Coach Mike MaGee: Alexis Rose,
Madison Rose, Madison Stiles, Franskeska Cantero, Aleah Yettaw, Mia Wojcik, Madeline MaGee and MJ MaGee
Females U13-14 with Coach Andy Stone: Samantha Stone, Shanna Miller, Kelsey Aschenbrenner, Lindsey Aschenbrenner, Lauren Chupp, Abby Manikowski and Courtney Cook
The winning male team U13-14 was Coached by Charlie Brown. Team members were: Colin Harding, Jaden Yettaw, Alex Baca, Sean Rettig, Taylor Wakeland and Grant Houin.
These winners will advance to the regional competition later this fall.
