August 23, 2010

The 3rd Annual Lake Maxinkuckee Film Festival, “A Gift of Warmth” will feature a grand assortment of comedy films that reach through many decades of American film production. A gala evening on Friday, September 3,  is planned for Festival sponsors and will include a reception, live music, dinner under the stars and the film “Best Man at Grass Creek”, a comedy who’s location is a mere 30 miles south of Culver.

Saturday, September 4th, the main event opens with feature film comedies being shown at Culver’s Uptown Cinema on Lake Shore Drive beginning at 10:00AM and running continually until 8:00PM. Step across the street to the Culver Town Park where, beginning at 6:00 PM , you can enjoy live entertainment, a picnic dinner, carriage rides,  and a host of other “Fun in the Park” activities. The evening concludes, at dusk, with the classic family musical comedy “Little Shop of Horrors” shown on a gigantic outdoor screen, under the stars and beside the shores of beautiful Lake Maxinkuckee. Admission to all events is a donation of new or lightly worn, clean items of winter wear for school age children, which will be provided to the students within the four county Culver Community School district. Monetary donations are gladly accepted and will be used to help families with their heating bills this winter.
