04/01/13 The Heartland Gallery will be hosting an special Open House for the community that will feature South Bend Artist, David M. Allen. The exhibit will open on Tuesday, April 2nd and go through Saturday, April 27th. The Gallery is open from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Tuesday through Saturday.
Mr. Allen was born in South Bend, Indiana and was drawn to drawing at a very early age and won several local art awards. In 1992 Allen graduated with honors from Purdue University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art and an Associate’s degree in Technical Graphics. After graduation, Allen accepted a Graphic position at Purdue University and in 1996 became the Director of Multimedia Resources for the School of Pharmacy and worked there until 2009.
The unique composition of the work in this exhibit combined Allen’s drawings, writings and 3-D computer graphics into both printed and animated imagery. David M. Allen’s work has been exhibited at the 2005 International Digital Art Awards and the 1992 SIGGRAPH art Exhibit. He has also work published in Computer Artist Magazine, AV Video and The Journal of Organic Chemistry and Science.
Heartland Gallery encourages the public to come and speak to Mr. Allen and explore his exhibit of art.
