12/15/13 This holiday season, Marshall County Community Foundation Giving Cards are an easy way to share the joy of giving and support local charities. Like any retail gift card, Giving Cards can be purchased in any amount and given as gifts. Recipients redeem the card by selecting the charitable organization or cause they want to support from among more than 300 funds available at MCCF. Giving Cards can be purchased and redeemed at MCCF’s website at www.marshallcountycf.org or by calling 574.935.5159.
“Whether you want to teach your children or grandchildren the fun of giving, give a client a gift with meaning or solve the problem of pleasing the friend who has everything, the Giving Card is a way to honor people with a special gift that gives back,” said Linda Yoder, Executive Director for the Marshall County Community Foundation.
Buying a Giving Card is fully tax deductible for the buyer and allows the Giving Card recipient the opportunity to choose from hundreds of charities and charitable causes. Giving Cards encourage giving in our community that is unique, meaningful and fun.
Yoder continued, “Many people look for options to traditional gifts. But these gift givers are often concerned that a charity they select might not ‘fit’ for the person they are honoring with their gift. The Giving Card is a great solution, and we’re pleased to make them available.”
A special opportunity to make donations donated dollars go even farther is available through special “Making a Difference” activities. From now until December 31, 2013, contributions made to designated funds (those that support specific organizations) will receive a ten percent match. With more than three hundred funds at the Community Foundation, there are many opportunities for donors to support the causes that matter most to them. The match applies to organizations that already have a fund at the Foundation or those that want to start one. Donations may be by check, cash, credit card, or by going online at www.marshallcountycf.org.
