10/18/12 The Grants Committee of the Marshall County Community Foundation awarded the second round of grants for the year 2012 during a news conference held October 11, 2012.
Grants Awarded from the General Endowment Fund:
The General Endowment Fund of the Marshall County Community Foundation exceeds $4 million, which enables the Foundation to award grants of $140,000.00 on an annual basis. General Endowment Fund grant applications are due February 1st and August 1st each year. Grants are awarded from this fund to support a variety of charitable causes including health and human services, youth, arts, education, and civic, scientific and environmental endeavors.
The following eleven organizations in Marshall County received a combined amount of $68,800 as part of the second round of grants for the year. Special attention was given to grants supporting education initiatives.
Grant committee members include Kurt Garner, Chair of Plymouth, Kay Finlay of Culver, Kevin Hickman of Bremen, Patti Kitch of Bourbon, Carolyn Kline of Culver, Louise Mason of Bourbon, Amy Middaugh of Bourbon, Michael Overmyer of Culver, Robert Pickell of Plymouth, Sarah Smith of Plymouth, and Don Thompson of Argos. Dean Byers of Plymouth, James Erwin of Plymouth and Susie Reinholt of Plymouth serve as advisors to the committee.
