January 18, 2011

01/19/11 It’s official.  Earlier this month the Plymouth Aviation Board signed a lease agreement with Fort Wayne Helicopters to relocate their business at the Plymouth Airport.

Fort Wayne Helicopters is owned and operated by Kenny Keller Jr., a citizen of Bourbon.  This man lives and breathers helicopters.  His full time occupation is a helicopter pilot for Med Flight based out of Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

Mr. Keller purchased his own helicopter in November of 2008 and was based in Fort Wayne and then Warsaw.  His company is now at Plymouth.

Keller is hosting a Open House this Saturday, January 22nd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Plymouth Municipal Airport on North Michigan Street.

Events for the day include, weather permitting a visit from Memorial Medflight from noon till 2 p.m.  Captain Ron Morgan and flight paramedic Grant Roberts and flight nurse Stacy Allen will be on hand to answer any questions.  There will be talks about learning to fly helicopters, the opportunity to take a helicopter ride and even take an introductory flight lesson.  There will be some refreshments and apparel for sale.

This is your opportunity to get out of the house and see what’s new at the Plymouth Airport.
