09/05/13 The Plymouth Kiwanis group reached out to help children and women in their time of need. The civic group made a $400 donation to Heminger House as well as a $200 donation to the Marshall County Neighborhood Center.
Annette Wojcik, the Heminger House Executive Director said, “We are very grateful to have organizations like Kiwanis help with our needs at the shelter. The funds will be used to continue to help the women and children at the shelter with their needs such as medicines, clothing, transportation issues and many others.” Wojcik added “We have a few needs at this time at the shelter and they include gift cards to Martins, Kroger, and Wal-Mart for perishables such as milk, bread, eggs, fresh fruits, veggies, and juices. Other needs include postage stamps, office supplies, all types of cleaning and disinfecting products, hair products for women, paper products, journals for the ladies and salad dressings of all kinds.”
The $200 donation to the Marshall County Neighborhood Center comes at a time of great need there. Heavy local demand for food has resulted in the need for new grocery supplies and the Kiwanis donation will be used to help replenish the shelves according to Sara Hill, executive director of the Neighborhood Center.
