Hope House to Collect Change at Michigan and Jefferson

October 15, 2010

10/15/10 Monday night the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety approved the request of Jill Montgomery to collect change at the intersection of Michigan and Jefferson Streets this Saturday. The funds raised will go towards the Riley Children’s Hospital Hope House on South Michigan Street in Plymouth.

Montgomery explained that the Hope House started a year ago with the Brian and Jill Montgomery family collecting money at the same intersection to kick off the Hope House.  The Hope House was the brain child of the Montgomery’s.

Brian is a contractor and wanted to give back to Riley Children’s Hospital since the hospital played such a giant role with his son John’s battle with cancer.  Working with dozens of subcontractors and suppliers that joined the cause, Hope House was completed about 6-weeks ago.  The home located at the corner of South Michigan and Ewing Streets is a beautiful four bedroom home with two of those bedrooms being master suites.  The home’s exterior was styled to fit in the historic neighborhood but inside you’ll find all the latest amenities including an open concept with the living room, dining room and kitchen.  The granite counter tops in the kitchen help to show off the cherry cabinets.  There are beautiful hard wood floor, a grand entry area, laundry on the second floor,3 ½ baths,  an attached two car garage, beautifully landscaped yard and deck in the back yard.

The home is currently listed at $220,000.  If they find a buyer who is willing to pay the asking price, Riley Children’s Hospital will receive a check in the amount of $125,000.   An open house is scheduled for Sunday, October 31st from 1 to 3 for those interested in the project and the home.

The Montgomerys will be at the intersection of Michigan and Jefferson on Saturday from 9 to 1.  Funds raised will help to pay for utility bills at the home and on the interest payments.
