Selecting Your Indiana Christmas tree

November 30, 2010

12/01/10 During Christmas time a Christmas tree is the centerpiece of our holiday traditions.  Many families want the experience of picking out their own Indiana fresh Christmas tree.  Indiana farms grow different varieties of pine, spruce and fir trees.  The most popular Indiana grown trees are Scotch pine or White pine, Canaan fir, Fraser fir, Douglas fir, and some spruces, such as Blue spruce. These trees have different characteristics to choose from:  fragrance, shape, needle length, needle retention, color, branch stiffness, size and cost.  Ask your local Christmas tree farm about available varieties and their characteristics to best meet your personal preference for a tree.

For more information on tree varieties, locations and sizes available, directions, hours of operation, landscape trees, and other information please visit the Indiana Christmas tree grower’s website at www.indianachristmastree.com
