Bremen Man Arrested for Stabbing on July 1st

  08/13/13  On Monday, July 1st at approximately 11:30 p.m. the Bremen Police Department received a report of a stabbing that had occurred at Center and 3rd Street in Bremen.  Arriving at the location, officers meet with the 35 year old male victim. The victim stated that he had been stabbed by 34 year old Jason Houk of Bremen. The victim was transported to Community Hospital of Bremen then transferred to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

 

Jason Houk fled the scene before officers arrived.   Witnesses at the scene stated that Jason Houk and the victim are friends and they had been drinking. They said that Jason Houk and the victim were rough housing with each other and that eventually resulted in the stabbing.

On Sunday, August 11th, Jason Houk was located at 922 North Center Street in Bremen and arrested on a warrant stemming from this incident.    Houk was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on charges of Aggravated Battery that creates substantial risk of death with knife and Battery by means of a deadly weapon. 

Jason Houk is currently being held on a $5,005 bond.
