Marshall County Coroner Bill Cleavenger and Chief Deputy Coroner, Bridget Hite said Tuesday morning that autopsy and toxicology results conducted on former MCEDC Director, Jay Michael Bahr showed elevated prescription drug levels in the lethal range.
Bahr was found dead in the downtown Plymouth apartment on March 28th.
According to the pathologist, Bahr’s medical history suggests that the overdose was intentional.
Hite indicated that a thorough search of the apartment by Plymouth Police detective Leo Mangus turned up no evidence of a suicide note. However, medical records obtained by the Coroner’s office indicate that Bahr has suffered from prior substance abuse issues and that prescription records obtained found a pattern of various prescribers and the use of several area pharmacies to obtain prescription medications.
The Indiana State Police assisted the Coroner’s Office in the investigation.
