Traffic Stops Lead to Arrest of Two

  11/15/13 On Wednesday, November 13th between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. the Indiana State Police conducted two separate traffic stops on two different vehicles that had left the residence at 1105 Lincolnway East in Plymouth.

  The driver of the first vehicle was 48 year old Brian E Smith while 55 year old Jean M. Swygart drove the second vehicle.   Both resided at 1105 Lincolnway East.

Plymouth Police Officer John Weir and his K9 partner Jax assisted with the traffic stop with Mr. Smith.   Jax indicated the presence of narcotics and officers located marijuana in the vehicle. 

  The second traffic stop was initiated for a traffic violation.  Officers located marijuana, methamphetamine and items used to manufacture methamphetamine within Swygart’s vehicle. 

Due to these traffic stops, a search warrant was obtained for the 1105 Lincolnway East residence.  During the execution of the search warrant additional marijuana, methamphetamine and items used to manufacture methamphetamine were located.

Both subjects were transported to the Marshall County Jail where Brian Smith was held on charges of possession of marijuana over 30 grams, dealing marijuana and dealing, delivering and or manufacturing methamphetamine.  He was booked in with no bond. 

Jean Swygart was held on a charge of dealing, delivering and or manufacturing methamphetamine and booked in with no bond.
