Jefferson Elementary Students Demonstrate Robots at School Board Meeting

JeffersonElementary_Robots_School Board 1A demonstration by several members of the Jefferson Elementary Robotics Club to the Plymouth School Board made it clear that they took their work seriously. The five students not only showed how their robots could perform, but also explained their documentation on how they arrived at the final model.

JeffersonElementary_Robots_school Board 3The students meet on Saturday mornings with Jen Shidler of the Jefferson staff. They also had guidance from Jeremy Schidler, PHS graduate, who had a standout showing in robotics in his high school career and is now persuading a degree in mechanical engineering.

JeffersonElementary_Robots_school Board 2Jefferson Principal, Angie Mills, said, “They are so excited about working on their projects, that they use recess time whenever possible.” Jen Shidler said she spent so many hours with her son and his team at practices and contests that she saw firsthand how much kids can learn from projects.
