Sewing Items on Display at CUTPL

May 13, 2014

Now on display at the Culver-Union Township Public Library is a collection of items sewn by local Culver resident, Karen Easterday. Karen began sewing items to sell through her small business, Starlight Sewing, around three years ago. Many years ago, Karen began sewing burial gowns for the NICU units at Riley and Memorial hospitals. She sells items online through her Facebook page, at festivals, and will sew custom ordered items as well. Karen’s favorite things to sew are the baby things, like burp cloths, bibs, booties, blankets, diaper bags, taggie toys, and car seat covers. The most popular selling items that Karen sews are a kid’s toy tool belt and large reversible tote bags with 6 pockets. Her bags make great diaper bags, beach bags, or book bags.

Included in the display are doll clothing, blankets, and diapers; little girl purses, credit card holders, large reversible tote bags with 6 pockets, hipster purses, a  kid’s toy tool belt, burp cloths, baby bibs, booties, blankets, and taggie toys. Karen’s collection of sewing will be on display throughout the month of May. Please stop by to take a look in the Culver-Union Township Public Library lobby today.
