Key to the City_JackGreenleeMonday evening Mayor Mark Senter presented the Key to the City of Plymouth to Jenny Greenlee and Jamie Greenlee, wife and son of former Plymouth Mayor Jack Greenlee.

Mayor Mark said, “I’d heard a couple of weeks ago that Mayor Greenlee wasn’t doing well so former City Attorney Nelson Chipman and I went and visited him.  It was in the afternoon when he is the peppiest and he looked good.”

Mayor Jack GreenleeSenter learned that the only key to the city Greenlee had on his wall was from his own administration.  Senter said, “I thought, that can’t be right. So I decided that since he is not doing well physically we would give him a key to the city from my administration.”

Chipman, Mike Miley, Clerk Treasurer Jeanine Xaver and Mayor Senter went last week and presented him with a key.  Monday night Senter did the official presentation during the Common Council meeting for the public.

Mrs. Greenlee said, “I want you to know he enjoyed every moment of his time in the mayor’s chambers.  He loved the city and he hit every building downtown once a month to see if there was anything that the city could do for them.”
