Governor Pence Joins Fellow Governors in Calling on President Obama to Reconsider Keystone XL Pipeline

February 12, 2015

StateNewsIndianapolis – Governor Mike Pence Friday joined 23 other governors from across the nation in calling on President Obama to reconsider his stated decision to veto the Keystone XL pipeline legislation passed by Congress.

The letter states, “We hope you will take into account the will of the vast majority of Americans who support this project, including our constituents, and sign legislation approving the pipeline when it reaches your desk.” The letter in full can be found attached.

“Indiana’s strong manufacturing sector would benefit economically from the approval of the Keystone XL pipeline,” said Governor Pence. “I urge President Obama to reconsider the pipeline as part of an ‘all of the above’ energy strategy and job creator, benefitting Hoosier manufacturers and workers across the nation while contributing to our country’s energy independence.”

In April 2014, Governor Pence sent a letter to President Obama urging him to approve the Keystone XL pipeline.
