Veterans Therapeutic Art Center to Locate in Plymouth

January 31, 2012

02/01/12 Larry Balmer announced Tuesday the founding of the Veterans Therapeutic Art Center, Inc.   The center, a 501 ( c ) 3, not for profit corporation, will be housed in a ten thousand square foot facility at 2112 Jim Neu Drive, in Plymouth, with plans for an opening date of mid to late summer 2012.

The Veterans Therapeutic Art Center, Inc, is intended to provide a therapeutic outlet for the over fifty one thousand veterans, active Military, Guard and Reserve members, and their immediate families, throughout Marshall, St. Joseph, Starke, Fulton, Elkhart and Kosciusko counties.

Provided free of charge to this group, the center will have a full wood working center, metal sculpting, painting and other artistic programs, a music room, a computer room and a meeting room, as well as other activities like jewelry making, leather working and so on. We will be limited only by the imaginations of our patrons.

We intend to partner with the US Veterans Administration to provide recurring visits by licensed therapists to help identify specific activities that will be most beneficial to our patrons if they desire the help.

In partnership with local communities the center will be an opportunity to give back to those who have given so much.

Tax deductible donations of any size will be gladly accepted, and folks who wish to lend a helping hand will be welcome. To make a donation please contact Larry Balmer, CEO, at 574-935-4741.
