03/04/14All those long hours of practice and studying finally paid off on Thursday as the LaVille 6th grade Math Bowl team captured the Walkerton Math Bowl Tournament Championship. The contest was exciting and close down to the last problem. The Lancers held on to win the Championship. Now the State of Indiana will compare their score with all others from around the state and determine LaVille’s state ranking! You may remember in the 2012 Math Bowl Tourney LaVille Elementary finished 3rd in the state. LaVille team members include: Team 1 – Robby Pope, Corey Schmidt, Carly Gutelius, Ethan Rutherford, Caleb Christy, Jacob Rush, Karly Unruh, James Bettcher, Ashleigh Glover, Adrian Johnson, and Robbie Kiner
LaVille’s second Math Bowl Team finished 3rd at Walkerton! That’s right the Lancers took two of the top three places at the tourney leaving most of the area schools behind them. Great job LaVille! Team 2 members include: Trenton Banks, Brooke Singleton, Tyler Studon, Jake Ols, Allison Thomas, Leyton Czarnecki, Katelynn Beam, Hannah Deadmond, Rebekah Beehler, Christy Harville, Maria Ingle, and Brianna Williams.
