Traffic Stop Locates 200 Grams of Marijuana

12/03/13 On Thursday, November 28th at 2:08 a.m. a Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on US 31 near the US 30 interchange. During the investigation approximately 200 grams of marijuana was located. The driver, 46 year old James Skelton of Michigan and the vehicle’s owner and passenger 54 year old Leisa Brooks of Indianapolis were taken into custody.  Both were transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on charges of Possession of marijuana 30 grams or more and dealing and or delivering marijuana.  James Skelton was booked in on a $4,500 cash bond while Leisa Brooks was booked in on a $1,500 cash bond that was paid later that day and she was released.

On Friday, November 29th at 11:45 p.m. a Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy  initiated a traffic stop for speeding on a vehicle on Lincoln Highway in the area of 9th Road.  During the traffic stop Marshall County’s K-9 Arras walked around the outside of the vehicle and indicated the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle revealed a substance believed to be a controlled substance.  The driver, 26 year old Scott Ramos of Plymouth was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance as a scheduled I or II narcotic. He was transported to the County Jail and booked on a $3,000 cash bond and was paid the next day and he was released with a January 7th, 2014 Superior Court II date for his initial hearing.
