05/17/13 On Wednesday, May 15th the Starke County Sheriff’s Department and Starke County Community Correction responded to Stay 4 Less Motel located at 2340 US 30 in Hamlet. They were conducting a compliance check on an individual.
Arriving at the motel Officer’s observed through a window subjects running and hiding in the bathroom. Gaining entry into the room Officer’s located 28 year old, Brian Back and 26 year old, Monica Hunt both of Plymouth and 57 year old Michael Campbell of Knox. They also located several items associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine.
A search warrant granted by Judge Kim Hall was executed and officers and the Indiana State Police Clandestine team began a search that produced items used to manufacture methamphetamine, methamphetamine paraphernalia and methamphetamine.
All three subjects are being held on preliminary charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of precursors, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia. They are being held without bond.
