04/04/13 In order to serve patients in a more collaborative and comprehensive manner, Midwest Cardiovascular Specialists has joined the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) health system.
Effective on April 1, 2013, the following cardiologists became part of the Saint Joseph Physician Network, a group of medical practices owned and operated by SJRMC.
• Farid Jalinous, MD, FACC, FSCAI
• Sachin Patel, MD, FACC
• William Sarnat, MD, FACC
• Ajazuddin Shaikh, MD, FACC
• Ashfaq Turk, MD, FACC
The newly affiliated practice, now named Midwest Cardiology,is one of the largest and most extensively trained medical practices in Michiana that consists entirely of board certified cardiologists. This transition offers new opportunities for both physicians and patients.

Midwest Cardiology provides a full range of cardiovascular services, including risk assessments, stress testing, renal artery stents, vascular ultrasounds and more. The practice also participates in more national heart and cardiovascular research than any other group, individual or practice in Northern Indiana.
Services will continue to be provided at the same location, in the Medical Office Building attached to the Mishawaka hospital. Patients of the physicians listed above do not need to reschedule future appointments. The change will not cause any disruption in care or treatment.
