The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety considered three requests during their meeting Monday night.

Board members denied the request of Kimberly Teutle to place a streetlight near the intersection of 7th Street and Beerenbrook Streets.

Councilman Mike Delp said he had driven by the location at 10:30 one evening and said, “I simply felt the request was for the convenience of Ms. Teutle’s garage.”

Councilman Wayne Smith said, “I also drove by and I can’t see the expense of putting in that light.”

The second request was presented by Bob Manuwal from the First United Church of Christ.  The church would like to block off the north row or parking spaces in the public lot between the library and the church.  The church will be hosting Bible School from August 2nd through the 6th and would like to use the area for supervised kid’s games.  The Board approved the request.

The final request was from the Masonic Lodge.  For years they have used the city’s property at the water-tower on Parkview Street near Pilgrim Manor during the Blueberry Festival.  Each year they park vehicles in the area as a fundraising project.

The Council approved their request.
