Red & Green Party at Miller’s Senior

December 24, 2012

12/26/12 Staff and volunteers of Miller’s Senior Living Community held their annual Red & Green Party for the residents in the Oak Hill Café.   The Red & Green Party has become a tradition that grows a little bit bigger each year.  Staff and residents look forward to the annual party because it is a time when staff and residents can spend time together in a relaxed atmosphere.  They can enjoy each other’s company by visiting and getting to know each other a little better.

Under the direction of Activity Director Cindy Flagg the staff and volunteers bring in homemade desserts for the party.  Dietary and activity staff decorated the dessert buffet in red and green.  Homemade desserts included peach pie, chocolate chip cookies, kieflies, cocktail wieners, assorted Christmas cookies, Suzy-Q cake, Red Velvet Cake, Christmas Crack, Chocolate Cream pie and so much more.

Before serving refreshments judging took place for the persons wearing the most red, the most green and a combination of the most red and green.  Resident winners were as follows:  Katie Kubley , Most Red; Helen Overmyer, Most Green; and Cleta Walker, Most Red and Green Combination.  The staff winners were :  Lana Alexander, Most Red; Deb Schock, Most Green; and Mary Stites, Most Red and Green Combination.  Each person entering the contest received a participation prize.
