12/12/13 Marshall County Coroner Bill Cleavenger is continuing his investigation into Wednesday’s industrial accident in Tippecanoe.
The incident occurred shortly before noon yesterday at NICORR in the 1200 block of 20th Road south of Bourbon. The unnamed truck driver was killed instantly in the accident. He was unloading a machine from the bed of his tractor-trailer when the load shifted and fell on him.
The driver’s name has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Cleavenger confirmed that the victim was not from the local area.
Drug and alcohol testing will be conducted which is standard for this type of industrial accident.
The Marshall County Police Department, Indiana State Police, Tippecanoe Fire Department and Bourbon EMS assisted at the scene.
