02/20/12 One Book, One Town-Marshall County will be holding an afternoon tea on Sunday, March 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the Marshall County Museum. Sample Civil War era teas, sandwiches and desserts and enjoy the special entertainment, “Reflections of the Past.” Jill Van Lew, will take you back to the genteel days of hoops and honor. Dressed in 1860’s clothing, Jill will share the fashions and proper etiquette of that ear.
This program will take you back to the days of hoop-skirts and high tea! While sharing costumes and etiquette of the time, Jill will ‘paint a picture in song’ as she sings these wonderful Victorian melodies. You will want to don your prettiest bonnet and share a cup of tea as you learn about some long ago traditional gatherings and celebrations!
