A Small Touch of Home for the Holidays for Our Troops

October 7, 2014

Touching hearts by providing comfort items for our wounded troops and the medical staff that care for them is what Operation: Quiet Comfort volunteers do all year long. Now it’s time for a little extra holiday cheer. It may seem early but the holiday shipment is huge and since most of it will be going overseas we need to make sure they receive it on time.

OQC plans to fill 800 Holiday stockings with phone cards, healthy snacks and treats, socks, hand & toe warmers and cards. We can do this with YOUR help! Sponsorship for each stocking is $10.00 which includes the shipping. Let’s brighten the holidays for those who are sacrificing so much for our freedom! This will not replace their family Christmas, but it will let them know that a grateful nation truly cares and they are not forgotten.

PLEASE pass this opportunity to EVERYONE you know, ASK them to donate! $10 is one meal out, 2 fancy coffees, 3 bags of chips . . . the sacrifice you make to send your $10 is little compared to the sacrifices our U.S. Armed Forces men and women are making for us. Holidays cards with a handwritten message are also needed.

If you would like more “hands on” experience with this project join other volunteers on Nov. 1st at 10:00 a.m. EST to pack these stockings at the home office of Ken and Jan Houin located at 17671 13th Rd. Plymouth, IN. We appreciate any assistance you give to touch the hearts of our heroes!

Donations may be given to the Houins, dropped off at A.S.K. for Flowers or WTCA Radio Station in downtown Plymouth or mailed directly to:
