Paint Your Pumpkins Pink Wednesday at LifePlex

October 18, 2011

10/19/11 Ounce of Prevention and the LifePlex are teaming up together for another pink fundraiser.  This time it’s Pink Pumpkins.  That’s right, pumpkins dipped pink and ready to decorate.

Halloween can be scary, but breast cancer can be even scarier.  That’s what makes Halloween a spooktacular time to help raise awareness and support breast cancer with Ounce of Prevention.

On Wednesday, October 19th from noon till 8 p.m. stop by the LifePlex, pick out your favorite already-painted-pink-pumpkin…make a monetary donation to Ounce of Prevention, any amount and you’ll be entered into the contest.  Then head up-stairs to the kid’s room on the second floor of the LifePlex and get creative with your decorating.

The Pink Pumpkins will be judged in several categories: pre-school to 2nd grade, 3rd to 5th grade, 6th to 8th grade, and high school and beyond.  Ribbons and prizes will be provided by Oliver Ford to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

The LifePlex and Ounce of Prevention would like to thank Hensler Nursery for their donation of pumpkins and Sherwin Williams for the Pink Paint!  Also a big thank you to the high school Health Careers Class students for assisting with the pumpkin dipping.
