10/22/13 Miller’s Senior Living Community hosted a People’s University class on Tuesday afternoon, October 15th. Miller’s Activity Director Cindy Flagg led the craft class which involved the art of needlepoint using the medium of plastic canvas.
The class fee included all supplies needed to make the popular “Cross In My Pocket”. Students were able to choose their favorite yarn colors. Flagg led them step by step in making a small pocket using the half cross and gobelin stitch. They then stitched a small cross. Using the overcast stitch they sewed the pocket together and slid the cross inside along with a touching poem that reminded them of Jesus’ love.
