January 28, 2015

PIDCOThe Annual Shareholders Meeting of the Plymouth Industrial Development Corporation (PIDCO) was held Tuesday at The Plymouth Country Club.

Sarah Guild Smith, PIDCO President highlighted activities in 2014.

Platting their 37 acres east of Pioneer Drive and north of Pioneer Seed into three lots was approved and the Indiana Department of Transportation is interested in locating a new and expanded maintenance facility on one of the lots.  It is believed with the projected expansion of the 7th Road connector from the new US31 bypass, this area will be the focus for new development.

The joint construction project with PIDCO, the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation and the City of Plymouth’s Redevelopment Commission has the initial phases of construction and site work on the 45,000 square foot expandable building complete.  M.C. Economic Development is actively promoting the building for sale or lease.

PIDCO was also able to secure a three year lease with Pregis Protective Packing Solutions for their facility on Flora Street.

PIDCO also joined the City of Plymouth with financial commitment of an Environmental Impact Sturdy for high speed rail service.  The proposal unites eight northern Indiana communities and would provide connecting from Chicago to Columbus, Ohio.

During the annual meeting board members Greg Compton and Ren Van Gilder were thanked for their service, vision and leadership serving two terms.  Mark Gidley and Shawn Grobe have been elected by the shareholders to fill those seats.
