Redevelopment Commission Approves $27,000 Change Order for Pine Road Well

November 9, 2012

11/12/12 Members of the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission gathered for a special meeting Thursday evening to consider a major change order for the Pine Road Water Treatment Plant.

Mark Sullivan, Project Manager from Commonwealth Engineers explained the situation the contractor has run into drilling the new wells.  The first well is down but the contractor, Ortman Drilling and Water Services has incurred $17,342 to date above the contract requirements, developing the well capacity.  The new well needs to pump 1,000 gallons per minute to with the second one doing the same.

Currently a difficulty with the new well development requires additional work.  Ortman estimated a total of $27,842 with no guarantee that it will meet capacity requirements.  If they are able to, the second well will more than likely require the same additional.

The Redevelopment Commission approved the change order in the amount of $27,842 for the first well.  The Commission will meet again on November 20th and should know at that time if the fix was successful.  If so, they should also know if the second well will need the some change order.
