10/02/13 Last month, fifth grade students at Triton Elementary School celebrated International “Talk Like A Pirate” Day. Students dressed up like pirates and adopted their lingo for the day.
It was a fun day although, the students participated in activities such as using context clues to identify the meaning of pirate vocabulary, reading about real pirates, and writing a pirate spin on classic nursery rhymes.
Triton Superintendent, Donna Burroughs said, “Luckily, no one had to walk the plank!”
