The Plymouth airport will be advertising for bids widening and repaving the runway as well as relocating the runway lighting system. The bids will be advertised in two parts in case the Federal Aviation Administration does not approve the grant for widening the runway. The bids will be opened at the July 9th meeting. Construction is scheduled to begin in mid September and the airport will be closed to aircraft until mid November.
Repaving the taxiways will have to wait until next year because of the FAA’s funding formula.
The board also approved the authority of airport manager Dave Lattimer to compute the price of fuel. The city office had wished Latimer to increase the price of fuel to include 2 cents per gallon to cover the service fees charged by the fuel company for using their equipment.
