Pickle Ball Anyone?

January 12, 2015

Pickle Ball indoorsPickle Ball is coming to the Plymouth Park Department.

This month Park Recreation Director Scott Michel and Superintendent Mike Hite have met with a couple of individuals who are interested in bringing Pickle Ball to the community.  They have volunteered to set up and take down the equipment each day.

The idea is to use the Webster Center for the program on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons.

Michel said there is a bit of equipment needed to play the game which is a smaller version of tennis, played with wood or plastic paddles that are larger than a ping pong paddle and smaller than a tennis racquet and a waffle ball. He asked for permission to purchase nets, some paddles and the balls for the program. A complete set is about $200.

Park Board President Dave Morrow commented, “When the new tennis courts are completed a couple of pickle ball courts will be available there too.”
